Terri Davenport Named C-USA Co-Track Athlete of the Week
04/15/2003

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University sophomore sprinter Terri Davenport (Woodbridge, Va.) has been named Conference USA's Co-Female Track & Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office today. She receives this honor for the first time this season.

Davenport won the 200-meter dash at the Charlotte Invitational this past weekend, posting an NCAA regional qualifying time and breaking her standing ECU record. Davenport has had five top-10 finishes during the outdoor season.

"It was a breakthrough race for Terri," said Head Coach Matt Munson. "She did a fantastic job, it was perfect conditions and she has been training very hard. She is ready to go faster than that and it is a load off now that she has qualified for regionals. Now we can focus on training her more."

The Pirates will head to the Penn Relays, April 24, in Philadelphia.
