Wilmington, N.C.--Four East Carolina University women's cross country runners placed among the top 15 to lead the Lady Pirates to a second place finish at the UNCW Seahawk Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Meanwhile, their male counterparts placed fifth.

Jessica Collins finished in fourth place (18:47.01) in the first event of the season for the Pirates cross country squad. Teammate Caitlin Littlefield crossed the line just three runners later with a time of 19:05.97, putting the ECU team behind only host UNC-Wilmington with most top 10 finishers.

Rounding out the top 15 for East Carolina were Megan Walling (13th, 19:25.51) and Hayley Flynn (15th, 19:30.79). As a team the Lady Pirates finished behind the University of Delaware among the seven teams in competition.
