TERRE HAUTE, Ind.--The East Carolina University men's cross country team participated in the 2005 Pre-Nationals hosted by Indiana State University. With three 8k events taking place on the men's side, including the Blue, White, and Open race, the Pirates did not participate as a team.

The Pirates participated in the 8k open race, where freshman Chris Belfiore (27:17) continued to impress finishing in the top 150 participants. First place went to Eastern Kentucky's Jacob Korir in a time of 24:08.

Kristian Jorgensen crossed the stripe next for ECU in 27:42 (126th), followed by teammates Stephen Tausend (28:11, 133) and Will Collins (29:18, 144).

East Carolina's next scheduled event is on October 30th when the team participates in the Conference USA Championship.
