Women's Basketball Heads To Charleston For Season Opener

Pirates Begin Second Year Under Head Coach Heather Macy

As a Graduate Student (2011-12): Will redshirt the 2011-12 campaign and have one season of eligibility remaining with the Pirates.

As a Junior (2010-11): Played in all 35 contests for the Cavaliers, making nine starts while averaging 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. She was second on the squad in three-point field goals made with 32 while owning the top free throw percentage mark at .840 (42-of-50). Edwards also tied for the team lead with 43 steals.

As a Sophomore (2009-10): Contributed 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest in 31 appearances and 10 starts ... Finished third on the team in free throw shooting, connecting on 32-of-40 attempts (.800) ... Also scored in double figures on eight occasions, including two career-high 17-point performances (vs. Indiana and Furman) ... In the first round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, set a new career-high with five steals against Green Bay while adding nine points and five rebounds.

As a Freshman (2008-09): Averaged 4.6 points and 3.0 rebounds and scored in double figures six times ... In her first career NCAA Tournament appearance against Marist, she scored six points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists ... Other double-digit scoring performances included a 15-point outburst opposite Utah in the WBCA Classic and a 12-point effort in a contest with Rider ... Additionally, had two double-digit rebounding efforts - hauling down a career-high 12 vs. High Point and 11 vs. Colorado.

At Providence Day School: Earned North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association All-State and All-Conference accolades ... Ranked as the fourth-best shooting prospect in the state her senior year and received an invitation to the Nike Skills Academy ... Played her AAU basketball with the Tennessee Flight.
