Yianna Kappas joined the East Carolina University staff as an academic coordinator in the Office of Student Development in August of 2012. She is responsible for advising the women's basketball and swimming and diving student-athletes in all educational matters.
Kappas arrived at ECU after obtaining a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration from William & Mary where she served in the Office of Academic Support for Athletics as a graduate assistant. At William & Mary, Kappas oversaw the athletic study hall and tutoring program and advised athletes from all varsity sports.
While working in the Office of Academic Support, Kappas also interned in the Athletic Development Office where she worked with Tribe Club staff to enhance the annual giving of former William & Mary student-athletes.
Kappas earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in writing and publication skills as well as a minor in business administration from Clemson University in 2009.
