BOONE, N.C. -Four Lady Pirates scored in double figures to lead ECU to the 75-69 victory over Appalachian State Wednesday evening at the Holmes Convocation Center. East Carolina improves to 3-4 on the year, while Appalachian State drops to 1-4.

Jasmine Young opened the game with a three-pointer to take the very early lead, but ASU's Robin Colbert matched her three-pointer with one of her own for the first of seven ties in the opening half. Sparked by a LaCoya Terry jumper, ECU went on a 6-4 spurt, to take the 9-7 lead with 13:35 to play. A Frances Hernandez trey at the 12:40 mark put Appalachian up 12-9. The two teams traded the lead four times over the next three and a half minutes, before a pair of Tiahana Bowens free throws tied the game at 17 a-piece with 9:19 to play. Affer GiGi Thomas's bucket put ASU back on top, it was ECU that went on a 6-0 run to take the 23-19 lead at the under eight media. The Mountaineers went on their own short run, retaking the lead, 26-23, with 5:50 remaining, before ECU put together a 13-2 run to take the 36-28 lead with under two minutes remaining in the half. Appalachian responded, going on a 6-0 run to end the period, making the halftime score 36-34 in favor of ECU.

The Mountaineers came out hot out of the locker room, opening the half on a 17-6 run, taking the 45-40 lead at the 16 minute mark. A fast break layup by Terry briefly stopped the run, cutting the ASU lead down to three, but another 6-0 rally extended the Mountaineers lead to nine, 51-42, their largest of the game, with 14:03 to play. The Lady Pirates went on a run of their own, putting together a 10-2, to cut the App lead to one, 53-52, with 10:35 on the clock. Tossie's layup put ASU back on top, but ECU scored four straight points to retake the lead, 56-55, with 9:10 remaining. Another Tossie basket gave the Mountaineers the lead, sparking a 5-0 spurt, to extend the lead to four, 60-56 at the under eight media timeout. ECU responded, going on a 9-2 run over the next three minutes, taking the 65-62 lead with 5:04 remaining in the contest. A Terry bucket with 54 seconds to play sealed the game for ECU, as the Lady Pirates held on for the 75-69 win.

Terry led all scorers with a season-high 23 points, while Impris Manning added a season-best 13 points. Young also scored in double figures, with 12, while Lauren Cochran had 10. ECU shot 65.3 percent from the free throw line, hitting 32-of-49, while ASU shot 61.1 percent, connecting on 11-of-18 from the stripe.

East Carolina returns home this Saturday, Dec. 1, as they host VCU at 2:00 p.m. at Minges Coliseum.
