About the Pirates: The East Carolina women's basketball team returns to Greenville this weekend trying to stop a three-game losing streak in Conference USA when it hosts Southern Miss Friday, Jan. 28 (7 p.m.) and Tulane Sunday, Jan. 30 (2 p.m.). The Pirates (6-12, 2-3) fell to in-state Charlotte in their last outing, 70-54, inside Halton Arena in Charlotte, N.C. After jumping out to a 16-10 lead in the first seven minutes of play, the Pirates were unable to stop the inside and outside game of Pam Brown, who scored 10 of her 18 points in the first half, while guard Sakellie Daniels recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

For the Pirates, seniors Shanita Sutton and Viola Cooper led the team with 15 points each, while Jennifer Jackson netted 12 points. Sutton recorded her second double-double of the season when she grabbed a career-best 14 boards.

Jackson leads the Pirates in scoring (15.1 ppg) and ranks second in rebounds (6.0 rpg). She recorded her third double-double of the season against Saint Louis with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and against VCU, she recorded her fourth 30-plus point game of her career. Against Stephen F. Austin in the first round of the Lady Pirate Invitational, Jackson netted a career-best and C-USA season best 34 points, hitting 13-of-21 shots from the floor.

Sutton is the only other Pirate to average double-figures with her 11.3 points per game. She ranks first in rebounds, pulling down 6.3 per contest. Against VCU (Dec. 30), she recorded her eighth consecutive double-digit game with a career-high 20 points against VCU. Sutton has posted double-figure games in 12 of her last 15 games dating back to Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 27), when she recorded her first career double-double (14 points and 11 rebounds) en route to being named to the Four Points LAX Turkey Shootout all tournament team.

Cooper has averaged 13.3 points and four rebounds over the last three games. She has connected on 42 percent (11-of-26) shots from the floor and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe (14-of-16).

ECU's lone consistency can be found on the boards as they have equaled or out rebounded 12 of their 18 opponents on the season (720-634) and as of Jan. 24, the Pirates ranked 59th in the nation with a 4.8 rebounding margin.

About Southern Miss: The Golden Eagles (6-12, 1-5) have lost eight of their last 11 games heading into this weekends contest. They have three players averaging double-figures and are led by freshman forward Shannon Stueber's 14.2 points per game. Sophomore's Deondra Carter (11.3) and Dianca Jones (10.5) are the other two double-digit scorers.

About Tulane: The Green Wave (9-10, 7-5) snapped a six-game losing streak last weekend with their upset win over Marquette, 74-54 at home. Tulane got 22 points from junior guard D'Aundra Henry, who connected on 9-of-13 shots from the floor, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Senior Lakethia Hampton leads the team with 17.5 points per game to go along with Henry's 13.1 points.

Promotions: Faculty/ Staff Appreciation Night: All ECU Faculty, Staff, and their immediate family will receive free admission to the game by presenting a valid ECU OneCard at the Minges ticket window starting at 6 p.m.
