GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina women's basketball team will look to stay unbeaten in Conference USA play as they host Marquette Saturday, Jan. 31st at 1 p.m. in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

ECU (14-4, 5-0) is off to its best start in 23 years, winning eight in a row, and 12 of their last 13. The last time ECU jumped out of the gates with a better start was during the 1980-81 season, when it started 15-3.

In the Lady Pirates' last outing, ECU routed instate rival Charlotte 80-55 behind 22 second half points by senior Courtney Willis. With her 26 points against the 49ers, Willis earned C-USA Player of the Week honors and moved into ninth place on the all-time Lady Pirate career scoring list.

Junior Jennifer Jackson added a season-high 24 points, connecting on 3 three-pointers and hitting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Keisha Anthony dished out a career-best eight assists and continues to provide head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener a spark of the bench. The freshman guard has averaged 11.8 points over the last five games, including a career-high 20 at Tulane.

Marquette (15-4, 5-1) is coming off a pair of wins over Tulane (69-55) and Southern Miss (76-54). The Golden Eagles have two players averaging double figures on the season. Senior guard Kelly Schwerman leads the team with 13.7 points per game, while sophomore Carolyn Kieger is averaging 10.4 points and 5.8 assists.

ECU Athletics has announced two ticket promotions for Saturday's game against Marquette. Any Pirate fan that has a ticket to the men's game against DePaul can receive free admission to the game by showing your ticket at the Minges ticket window. Also, anyone wearing ECU apparel may purchase a ticket for $1 redeemable at the Minges ticket window.

The Lady Pirates will conclude its home stand Monday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. against nationally ranked (No. 13) DePaul.
