Lady Pirates Look To Get Back On Track Against Saint Louis

    GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina women's basketball team will hit the road looking to snap a two game Conference USA skid when they travel to Saint Louis Friday, Feb. 6 to take on the Billikens at the Bauman-Eberhardt Center with an 8 p.m. (EST) tip scheduled.

    The Lady Pirates (14-6, 5-2) are looking to bounce back from losses to Marquette (75-61) and No. 15 DePaul (90-74) over the weekend. Against Marquette, Jennifer Jackson recorded her third double-double of the season leading three Lady Pirates in scoring with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

    In ECU's last outing against DePaul, senior Courtney Willis posted her 20th straight double figure scoring game with a game-high 23 points, on an 11-for-16 shooting performance from the floor. Willis is currently averaging 18.3 points and 9.4 rebounds a game, and is nine points shy of passing Lady Pirate great Justine Allpress for eighth place on the all-time scoring list. Senior guard Alisha Bishop scored 13 points and recorded five assists against the Blue Demons.

    Saint Louis (7-14, 1-7) is coming off a pair of losses to Southern Miss 81-51 and Tulane 78-64. The Billikens have two players averaging double figures and are led by Angie Lewis . The senior forward is averaging 17.3 ppg and 6.9 boards on the season. This will mark the third meeting between the two schools, with Saint Louis holding a 2-0 advantage.

    ECU will continue its road trip on Sunday, Feb. 8 when they travel to Memphis for a 1 p.m. tip off on C-USA TV. The Lady Tigers (15-6, 5-3) claimed a pair of victories over the weekend against Tulane 76-64 and Southern Miss 73-61.

    Memphis has two players averaging double figures and are led by Victoria Crawford. The junior forward is averaging 15.5 ppg and in her last two games is averaging 17.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg coming off the bench. The series is tied between the two schools 1-1, with Memphis' win coming at the Elma Roane Field House in 2002, 83-62.

    The Lady Pirates will be back at home on Friday Feb. 13, when they host TCU in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
