LAS VEGAS, Nev. - East Carolina women's basketball head coach Heather Macy traveled to Las Vegas last week as a featured presenter at the 2012 Nike Basketball Championship Clinic. The event was held at the Orleans Arena.

Of all the clinics held nationwide, the Las Vegas venue serves as the most prestigious and is regarded as the largest basketball clinic in the world. Macy led a discussion about her "Transition Inter-State Offense" and guided on-court demonstrations using players.

Other featured speakers for the Las Vegas clinic included Hall of Fame legend Bob Knight, Jay Wright (Villanova), Mike Anderson (Arkansas), Shaka Smart (VCU), Josh Pastner (Memphis), Kevin O'Neill (USC) and Tony Barone (Memphis Grizzlies).

Macy is a regular presenter at Nike Basketball Championship Clinics as she has spoken at events in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cleveland, Ohio, Wisconsin Dells, Wisc., and Orlando, Fla. The head coach is in her third year with East Carolina.

The Pirates won six of their last eight games to end the 2011-12 campaign and return all but two players from the squad. Macy will also welcome the services of three players with prior collegiate basketball experience - two of which hail from ACC institutions in guards Kyani White (Virginia Tech) and Whitny Edwards (Virginia).
