GREENVILLE, N.C. - Senior Celeste Stewart was named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Women's Basketball First Team on Tuesday. The all-state first and second teams feature 10 players representing seven different North Carolina Universities.
The point guard for the Pirates earned the honors after leading ECU to a 22-10 overall record and its first WNIT appearance since 2010. Stewart finished the year with a team-best 132 assists to average 4.1 per game and 11.6 points per game. She was also a member of the Conference USA First Team after pouring in a pair of 20-point games and concluding her ECU career ranked sixth in the career record book with a total of 366 assists.
In addition to her first team all-conference and all-state honors, Stewart was also named ECU Outstanding Player of the Year at the ECU women's basketball annual awards reception.
Academically, Stewart was named to the ECU Athletics Director's Honor Roll and to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
