GREENVILLE, N.C. - Four Lady Pirates scored in double figures with junior guard LaCoya Terry leading the way with 13 points in ECU's intrasquad Purple-Gold scrimmage as ECU welcomed students, alumni and community supporters to the first Purple-Gold Fan Jam inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Friday night. The event was hosted by actor Dennis Haskins, best known for his role as Mr. Belding on the hit TV show Saved By The Bell.

The event featured scrimmages by both the men and women's teams and was capped with a 47-37 win by the Lady Pirates Purple squad in a 20-minute exhibition.

The crowd was treated to a variety of performances and contests, including Saved By The Bell trivia and a 3-point shooting contest. Many of the Pirates' athletic teams were introduced, including the football team which host rival NC State Saturday afternoon. Coach Skip Holtz and juniors Zack Slate and Fred Hicks each spoke to the assembly with Hicks leading the cheers as the team exited.

Fellow juniors Jasmine Young and Gabriela Husarova also scored in double-figures with 11 and 10, respectively. Sophomore forward Lauren Cochran added 10 points. All four freshmen looked impressive in their ECU debuts, with Allison Spivey leading the way with nine points and a team high seven rebounds. She also added three assists. Shuanda Ashford added seven points and four boards, Tiahana Bowens registered six points and three rebounds while Kim Gay added four points and five rebounds.

The Lady Pirates begin their campaign to repeat as Conference USA Champions as they open the 2007-08 season on Nov. 11 as host Presbyterian at 2:00 p.m. in Minges Coliseum.
