Hey Pirate Fans,

Well the big day has arrived. Tonight is the night we've been working towards since the last game of the C-USA tournament last year and the first day of pre-season. If the rainy weather doesn't wash Greenville away, we tip it off tonight with a doubleheader with the men. For a change, we have the 8pm night cap which is different than any other college double header I've played in where the women play first. Juicey [Chareya] and I were talking about the game yesterday and how we nervously waited for the first day of pre-season and then eagerly waited for our first game, and now, well...it's here! Personally, I feel a little under the weather, but I have to be mentally stronger than the way I feel physically tonight. I guzzled so much water last night trying to feel better, but with water and medicine in my system, the way I am feeling is definitely the last thing on my mind! The training room has been packed with everybody this week, with just little nagging aches, but our trainers have been working hard and have prepared us for today.

This week the guys played us tough in practice as we learned new plays, defenses and tendencies. That should help us out playing against the real opponents. Charlotte is a good team and really athletic based off of the film the coaches clipped for us. It's going to be a battle and a fast-paced game. We've prepared up to this point to the best of our ability, now it's just a matter of bringing it tonight!!

Wednesday evening there was a Student Pirate Club "social" where the SPC could meet the basketball teams. Kim and Coach BT went to represent us and got to tell people about our game and to tell them to stay for our game following the men's matchup. I encourage everybody to stick around for the second game of the Pirate season opener because we work just as hard as the men and would like to have your attendance too, so stick around!! All support is greatly appreciated, but especially from other students. Seeing students supporting us at the games is especially rewarding so come on out and stay in the stands!! Hey, it's free for students!

Have a Blessed weekend!
Go Pirates!!
