GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2014 Spring portion of its schedule Sunday, Feb. 9 participating in the UCF Challenge. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
The Pirates, who completed the fall with a 42-9 record and are ranked No. 53 by Golfstat, will be joined in the 19-team field by (21) Kentucky, (22) Iowa State, (26) UCF, (29) Tulane, (33) Miami, (43) SMU, (45) Wisconsin, (48) GRU Augusta, (50) ETSU, (57) Georgia State, (58) Texas State, (62) Minnesota, (65) New Mexico, (68) Campbell, (71) FIU, (97) Western Carolina, (105) Kennesaw State and (123) USF.
ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisting of one senior (Fanny Wolte), two juniors (Emily Eng and Katie Kirk) and two sophomores (Frida Gustafsson Spang and Nicoline Engstroem Skaug).
The 54-hole tournament begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and will be followed with 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday. Pirate fans can get updated scoring on www.Golfstat.com.
