Fanny Wolte Named To 2013 C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina junior Fanny Wolte is one of five women's golfers named to the 2013 Conference USA Women's Golf Academic Team after a vote by the league's sports information directors for women's golf. Wolte, a two-time selection, is joined by four seniors, who hold a minimum 3.2 GPA, classified as at least a sophomore and having competed in at least 75 percent of their team's scheduled tournaments are eligible for the all-academic team.
Wolte sports a 3.91 GPA in the classroom as a marketing major. The native of Graz, Austria is a two-time National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division I Scholar All-American (2011-12), three-time C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal Winner (2011-13), three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member (2011-13) and a five-time ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll recipient (Fall 2010-present).
On the field, she has participated in nine events recording one top-10 finish and posting a 75.33 stroke average. Last week she picked up her second career C-USA Golfer-of-the-Week honor after finishing tied for sixth at the Marsh Landing Invitational.
During her three-year career with the Pirates, she owns a 75.21 stroke average ranking second all-time among golfers who have completed at least 50 rounds. Wolte has posted two career wins (both during freshman season), three Top-5's, eight Top-10's and 14 Top-20 finishes. She is a two-time All C-USA performer and was named the leagues freshman-of-the-year in 2011.
Wolte and the Pirates will be back in action when they participate in the C-USA Championships (Apr. 22-24), which will be played at the Peninsula Golf Course in Gulf Shores, Ala.
