Savannah, GA – Former East Carolina women's golf standout Adrienne Millican (Fuquay-Varina, NC), jumped out to an early three up lead and held on to defeat Julie Harrison 4 and 3 to advance to the round of 16 Wednesday. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 5,950-yard Dear Creek Course at Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia.

The Championship Division of the 90th Women's Southern Golf Association started with thirty-two players, a majority of which were junior or collegiate golfers. In other action, Laura McCaslin (South Carolina) knocked off co-medalist Karen Ferree (Hilton Head, S.C.), while Charlotte Campbell came from behind to defeat Floridian Therese Quinn. Mississippi State golfer Stephanie Godare defeated junior player Jillian Brodd and Louisiana State's Alexis Rather defeated Florida University player, Tarah McNaughton. Co-Medalist Laura Crawford, Wake Forest defeated Vanderbilt's Julie Bartholomew.
