Pirates In Third After 36-Holes At Chip-N Club Invitational

Lincoln, Neb. -The East Carolina women's golf team fired a 36-hole score of 600 (301-299) and currently sit in third place at the 2008 Chip-N Club Invitational, which is being played at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
The Pirates got stellar play out of sophomore Amber Littman (74-72=146), who is in sole possession of fifth place and Abby Bools (76-73=149) who is tied for eighth place with one round to go. Colleen Estes (77-75=152) is tied for 18th, while Ana Maria Puche (74-79=153) is tied for 23rd and freshman Amy Otteson (77-84=161) is tied for 57th. Julia Strandberg, who is playing as an individual, is currently in 68th with a scored of 167 (86-81).
Sitting atop the leaderboard in the individual portion of the event is Nebraska's Mary Kate Bird who posted rounds of 70 and 72. In a wide open individual race, Bird owns a one shot edge over UALR's Sara Wikstrom. UC Riverside's Jennifer Bermingham is also in the thick of the individual race after shooting rounds of 74 and 70 to enter Tuesday's final round at even par 144.
Nebraska enters Tuesday's final 18 holes at 593 after producing rounds of 298 and 295 on Monday. UALR heads into the final round clinging to a one stroke lead at 592 after rounds of 292 and 300. The Pirates are also in the hunt for the Chip-N Club title, sitting eight strokes off the pace at 600, after opening the tournament with rounds of 301 and 299.
The 54-hole Chip-N Club Invitational will conclude with the final 18 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring for the final round will be available on Huskers.com and GolfStat.com.
