Women's Golf Sets Sights On Sixth-Straight NCAA Bid

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2012-13 season Monday, Sept. 17 when they participate in the Dale McNamara Invitational, which is hosted by the University of Tulsa. The event will be played at the par-72, 6,282-yard Golf Club Oklahoma in Broken Arrow, Okla.
The Pirates, who are coming off their fifth-straight NCAA Regional bid, will be joined in the 15-team field by Arizona State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Augusta State, Coastal Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas San Antonio and Tulsa.
ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisted of one junior (Fanny Wolte), two sophomores (Emily Eng and Katie Kirk) and a pair of true freshmen (Frida Gustafsson Spang and Nicoline Engstroem Skaug) to kick off the season.
The 54-hole tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (ET).
