Bools Tied For 14th After First Round At Tar Heel Invitational

Team Leaderboard l Individual Leaderboard l ECU Individual Scores CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Sophomore Abby Bools recorded an opening round 74 and currently sits in a tie for 14th place at the 2007 Tar Heel Invitational. The three-day event is being played at the par-72, 6,285 yard UNC Finley Golf Course. Bools paced East Carolina by posting an even round 36 on the front nine and a two-over 38 on the back, carding birdies on holes three, eight, ten and 18. Emelie Lind carded a first round score of 78 (37-41) and currently is tied for 53rd, while Ana Maria Puche (39-40=79) is tied for 63rd, Colleen Estes (41-39=80) is tied for 75th and Amber Littman (41-40=81) is 78th. Tulsa's Michaela Cavener leads the individual standings after firing a four-under 68 (35-33) and stands two strokes ahead of Jacqui Concolino (Vanderbilt) and Angela Oh (Tennessee), who posted rounds of 70. Occupying fourth place is a trio of golfers in Amanda Blumenherst (Duke), Natalie Sheary (Wake Forest) and Emily Street (NC State) with a one-under par 71. In the team portion of the tournament, the Pirates (14-0) are tied for 15th after carding a first round score of 311 and sit 13 shots out of fifth place. Wake Forest (295) currently holds a one shot lead over Tulsa (296), while Vanderbilt and Tennessee are tied for third with a score of 297. Rounding out the top five in fifth place is Georgia (298).
