GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina women's golf team is set to host the 2009 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. on Oct. 19-20 at the par-71, 5,939-yard Greenville Country Club.

The Pirates, who finished second a year ago, are joined by 2008 champion Georgia State and third-place finisher Miami (Fla.). Also appearing in the 15-team field are East Tennessee State, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, James Madison, Maryland, Michigan, UNC Greensboro, Old Dominion, UTEP, William & Mary and Xavier.

Georgia State's Iliskra Verwey (2008 individual winner) and ECU's Abby Bools (third-place) are the lone returning medalists from 2008.

The two-day 54-hole event will have 36-holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:40 a.m. on both days. Pirate fans can catch all the live action by logging onto www.Golfstat.com or www.ECUPirates.com.
