Lady Pirates Set School Record At UNCG-Starmount

RD1 Media Page (PDF) l RD1 Combo Page (PDF) GREENSBORO, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team carded a school-record 284 on the first day of the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic and currently sit in first place with 18 holes remaining. The event is being played at the par-71, 6,265 yard Starmount course, the former home of the PGA's Greater Greensboro Open. The Pirates (17-14) hold a commanding 15-shot lead over second place and tournament host UNC-Greensboro (299). Rounding out the top-five are Florida International (300), Stetson (302) and Elon (304). Senior Emelie Lind (36-34) and freshman Amber Littman (35-35) are currently in a three-way tie atop the leader board after firing one-under par 70's with Susan Nam (Florida International). Sitting one stroke back at even par is sophomore Abby Bools (35-36) for the Pirates in a tie for fourth with Maria Ronderous (Miami). Ana Maria Puche shot an opening round 73 (37-36) which is good enough for a share of tenth place, while Colleen Estes is tied for 28th with a round of 77 (38-39). The field consists of 69 golfers made up on 11 teams and 14 individuals. Tuesday's final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 9:30 am. TEAM SCORING: INDIVIDUAL SCORING:
