Women's Golf in Seventh After Two Rounds At Lady Paladin Tournament
10/25/2003 GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The East Carolina women's golf team posted a second round 309 score and sits in seventh place with a 615 (306-309) at the Lady Paladin Intercollegiate. The tournament is being played as the par-72, 5,984-yard at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C. The Pirates (46-12-1) are one of 17 teams participating in the three day 54-hole tournament hosted by Furman University. The University of Georgia is leading the team portion of the tournament after shooting a 36-hole two-under par 574 (291-283). In second place, 15 strokes behind the Bulldogs, is Tulsa who posted a two day total of 589 (291-298). TCU is in third with a 596 (305-291). Junior Pirate Adrienne Millican (76-75=151) is currently tied for 18th after shooting a second round two-over par 74. Fellow Pirate Jessica Krasny (74-79=153) is tied for 25th. Millican is 11 strokes behind the leader Whitney Wade (72-68=140) of Georgia, who recorded a four-under par second round 68. Brooke Tull of TCU is in second (72-70=142) and Lisa Tyler of Georgia is in third with a one-under 143 (72-71). "We didn't play with any consistency today," said ECU head coach Kevin Williams. "The course played tough and we struggled on the greens. The good news is that we still have a chance to move into the top five after the final round. But we are going to have to play flawlessly tomorrow to accomplish that." Final round action will continue Sunday morning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
