Helliesen Finishes Tied For 6 at Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

Kiawah Island, S.C. - Heidi Helliesen shot a final round two over-par 74 to claim a share of sixth place at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate held this week at Oak Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island, S.C. For Helliesen it was her first top-10 finish of the season.
The Pirates, who finished tied for ninth (936), closed out the fall season with a 42-19-3 overall record and recorded their fourth top-9 finish of the season.
ECU freshman Lene Krog finished tied for 29th after posting a 16 over-par 232. Emeilie Lind carded a 54-hole score of 239, while Jamie Quinn (242) finished tied for 65th and Jessica Hauser (244) was 70th.
Renee Skidmore won individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 220 and helped Idaho to the team title with a tournament score of 912. The highlight of the day came from Coastal Carolina's Lindsey Letzig, who carded a hole-in-one on number seven during the second round. Charleston shot the low round of the tournament, turning in a 297 in the second round, to jump from ninth to second.
The Pirates are off for the the winter and pick up again Feb. 19th when they travel to Miami, Fla. To take part in the Papa John's Collegiate.
