GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina Head Women's Golf Coach Kevin Williams has announced that Victoria Allred and Lisa Petterrson have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for the Pirates during the 2014-15 season.

"We are very pleased with the addition of Victoria and Lisa to our program," Williams said. "We have some big shoes to fill with the loss of four year starter Fanny Wolte, but I am confident these two will not only fill that void but will add to the depth of competition on our roster."

Victoria Allred, Pfafftown, N.C. (Reagan High School)
Five-time North Carolina (CGA) All-State selection ... 2011 North Carolina High School 4A State Champion ... Claimed medalist honors at the 2011 Twin States, 2012 Dogwood State and 2012 TYGA State tournaments.
Coach Williams' Comments: "It is Victoria's competitive fire which impresses me the most. She has been very successful with wins in four big events in the Carolinas. Despite missing three months due to an off the course injury, she was a consistent performer during the 2013 season and qualified for the National Big I Championship this summer just a month after being cleared to resume physical activity stemming from her injuries. I am excited to see her competitive fire in action for the Pirates next year."

Lisa Pettersson, Taby, Sweden (Uppsala Celsiusskolan)
Currently ranked 12th in the country under the age of 21 and fourth in her class ... Qualified for the 2011 Annika Cup ... Posted seven Top 3 finishes during 2013 which included the Viksjo Junior Open title ... Placed third at the Annika Invitational Europe and Skandia Junior Open ... Member of the Junior Swedish Gymnastics Team that placed second in the National Championships in 2011.
Coach Williams' Comments: "Lisa is a wonderful addition to our program. She is a very consistent golfer, who hits a lot of fairways and greens, and reminds me a lot of Nicoline Engstroem Skaug. In addition to being very consistent in her game, Lisa is wonderful athlete. She competed nationally in gymnastics for eight years until giving it up two years ago to play golf. We are excited about the impact Lisa will have in our program."

The Pirates finished the fall season with a 42-9 record, which included Top 4 finishes in all four events. ECU will return to action in early February (9-110 when they travel to Orlando, Fla. to participate in the UCF Challenge.
