COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - The East Carolina women's soccer team couldn't muster any offense Friday night against nationally-ranked Texas A&M as it fell 3-0 in front of 4,673 fans at Aggie Soccer Stadium.

The Pirates (1-4-0) fell behind in the eighth minute of play when Melissa Gary maneuvered around an East Carolina defender and then beat the Pirates' goal keeper Amber Campbell (Frederick, Md.) for the game winner, a straight shot into the back of the net. Garey nearly scored again shortly thereafter, but the shot ricocheted off the right post.

With a little over 24 minutes left in the first half the Aggies (3-1-1) posted their second goal of the night as Jordan Falcusan served a rebound to Ashlee Pistorius who put the ball away, scoring her team leading, fifth goal of the season.

Heading into halftime A&M had taken nine shots to East Carolina's one. The Aggies didn't let up as they came out of the locker room firing in the second half, out-shooting the Pirates overall, 24-5.

Late in the second half, the Aggies capitalized on a corner kick from Laura Probst when freshman midfielder Laura Grace Robinson headed the ball past Campbell for A&M's third and final goal of the night.

Senior Meghan McCallion (Long Island, NY) led the Pirates with two shots, while Anastasia Nikas (Scottsdale, Ariz.) had ECU's lone shot on goal.

The Pirates will head to Oklahoma on Sunday, Sept. 11 for 2 p.m. tilt.
