GREENVILLE, N.C.--Amy Szilard's goal midway through the second half proved to be the game winner, as the Pirates defeated Campbell 1-0 Friday afternoon at Bunting Field. ECU moves to 4-1-2, and a perfect 4-0-0 at home, while the Camels fall to 1-4-0.

After a scoreless first half, Szilard tallied her second goal of the season as she connected on a header from Madison Keller with 35:54 remaining on the clock. Nicole Moore also earned an assist in the eventual game winner.

Amber Campbell tallied her fifth shutout of the season, and has not allowed a goal in 536 minutes. Campbell was aided by her teammates, as the Camels did not register a shot on goal.

Anastasia Nikas registered two shots on goal for the Pirates while five others had one shot on goal.

"I think on the positive side, we defended really well again, and we got another shutout," head coach Rob Donnenwirth said. "I think our defensive pressure is good all over the field, but we need to still do better offensively. We need to do better up top, we are young, but we need to make better decisions on who we pass the ball to and work more on our spacing."

The Pirates return to action this Sunday, Sept. 22 as they face in-state foe UNC Wilmington. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. with the parents of the Lady Pirates being honored before the match.
