GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's soccer team dropped its second match in Conference USA play of the season Sunday afternoon falling to UAB 2-1 at Bunting Field.

The Pirates (5-8-0, 1-2-0) got on the board early in the second half when junior Rachel Hils (Columbus, Ohio) scored her first goal of the season in the second half. Meghan McCallion (Long Island, N.Y.) set up the goal when she fired a shot from five yards out that was blocked by UAB's Katie Forbis. Hils was there for the rebound to put the Pirates up 1-0. With her assist, McCallion moved into sole possession of second place on ECU's all-time assist charts with 18 for her career.

UAB would answer with the equalizer in the 70th minute of play when Sally Palmer put back her own blocked shot past ECU's Amber Campbell (Frederick, Md.).

The Blazers (7-5-1, 3-0-1) got the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute when Nadine Liverpool and Jill Porto hooked up on the right side of the field. Porto received Liverpool's pass and beat Campbell one-on-one.

ECU will hit the road this Friday, Oct. 14 when they travel to UCF for a 7 p.m. tilt.
