GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's soccer team recorded its third Conference USA victory of the season Friday afternoon defeating Tulsa 3-2 at Bunting Field on Senior Weekend.

The Pirates (7-10, 3-4 C-USA) got on the board early in the first half when Madison Keller found Meghan McCallion in Tulsa's (7-8-2, 2-4 C-USA) goal box for the games first score. For McCallion, it was her ninth goal of the season and the 39th of her career.

ECU held on to a 1-0 lead late into the second half until Tulsa's Katie Ward scored off a deflection in the 73rd minute of play to knot the score at 1-1.

Two minutes later junior Allison Howell netted her third goal of the season when she headed a Nicole Moore corner kick into the back of the net for a 2-1 lead.

ECU's Melissa Penney scored the game-winner for the Pirates in the 83rd minute when Howell placed a cross pass from the right side of the field from 25 yards out.

With two second left in the match, Tulsa's Jamie German scored on a penalty kick to close the gap to 3-2.

"This was a must win game for us and the team played very well," said Head Coach Rob Donnenwirth. "We have played four games in the last seven day and I think our team has shown a lot of guts coming out and competing at a high level."

The Pirates will close out their home season this Sunday when they face off against SMU at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
