GREENVILLE, N.C. – Following a successful season as a member of East Carolina’s defense and midfield, junior Kelly Miller received honorable mention recognition as part of the NSCAA University Division Women’s Scholar All-South Region Team.
A nursing major possessing a 3.68 cumulative grade point average, Miller was one of 18 players from the south region to receive honorable mention honors.
Miller played in all 21 of ECU’s games in 2013 and made 15 starts. In addition to playing at least 90 minutes in eight matches, her 1,515 minutes played were the fifth most on the team. Despite primarily playing a defensive role for the Pirates, Miller managed to tally five points on the season, three of which came at UAB on Oct. 6 where she scored her first-career goal and assisted on another.
East Carolina finished the 2013 season 9-9-3 overall and reached the semifinals of the Conference USA Championship.
