GREENVILLE, N.C. - Ten home games at the East Carolina Soccer Stadium and the First Annual ECU Soccer Tournament highlight the 2013 women's soccer schedule, 15th-year head coach Rob Donnenwirth announced Tuesday.
After a road exhibition contest at Coastal Carolina on Aug. 16, the Pirates will kick off the 2013 campaign with a pair of road matches at Davidson (Aug. 23) and Elon (Aug. 25), before opening up a five-game home stand that includes hosting its first ever soccer tournament. ECU will welcome in UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington and Western Carolina for a three-day event and are scheduled to play the Spartans on Friday, Aug. 30 and the Catamounts on Sunday, Sept. 1.
ECU's home swing continues with matches against UNC Wilmington (Sept. 6), George Washington (Sept. 8) and Campbell (Sept. 13) before closing out its non-conference schedule on the road at South Carolina (Sept. 15) and High Point (Sept. 20).
Conference USA action for the Pirates starts at home in 2013 when they play host to 2012 NCAA participant Colorado College (Sept. 27) and Charlotte (Sept. 29). Other home matches for ECU in 2013 include: Marshall (Oct. 13), Florida Atlantic (Oct. 20) and Middle Tennessee (Oct. 31), which has been tabbed as Senior Night.
The conference road opener is set for Oct. 4 at Old Dominion followed by a trip to UAB on Oct. 6. Other league road games consist of Florida International (Oct. 18), Southern Miss (Oct. 25) and Rice (Oct. 27).
The 2013 Conference USA Tournament is scheduled to played from Nov. 4-10 at a site to be determined by the league office.
