GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University's women's soccer team has announced Lindsi Troxler (Brown Summitt, N.C.), Kate Lowe (Raleigh, N.C.) and Meghan Glassmacher (Fairfax Station, Va.) will join the ECU Pirates in 2003. They will join a class that already includes Anastasia Nikas (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Carmen Calpo (Waianae, Hawai'i), Rachel Hils (Columbus, Ohio), and Justine Barbato (East Brunswick, N.J.).

Lindsi Troxler (Brown Summitt, N.C.)
Lindsi will join the Pirates as a sophomore after transferring from Elon University. She posted an 1.02 goals against average and a .864 save percentage as a goalkeeper with the Phoenix. She attended Northeast High School where her team compiled a 49-17-4 record and 38 shutouts. She was named all-state her junior year and was named Keeper of the Year three times in her conference and region. Lindsi played club soccer for the Charlotte Soccer Club Blue Team, which was state champions in 2001. Lindsi was also a member of the North Carolina State ODP Team from 1999-2001.

Reason Lindsi chose the Pirates:
"Reputable academic program and soccer program with highly respected coaching staff and players."

Coach Donnenwirth's comments:
"Lindsi has played at a high level with ODP and club soccer. We feel her technical ability and year experience at the collegiate level will help her compete for a position here at ECU."

Kate Lowe (Raleigh, N.C.)
Kate is a transfer from Barton College where she was named second-team all-conference her freshmen year. While at Barton she was the leading goal-scorer for her team with 15 goals and seven assists as a forward. She played high school soccer for Cardinal Gibbons where she earned all-state honors her junior and senior year while being the team's leading goal-scorer. She was also a member of the Triangle Futbol Club.

Reason Kate chose the Pirates:
"Big School, good education, and competitive Division I soccer"

Coach Donnenwirth's comments:
"Kate is a hard-working forward that has a great nose for the goal. She has proven she can score at the collegiate level and we hope she continues this as a Pirate."

Meghan Glassmacher (Fairfax Station, Va.)
Meghan was the starting defender for the SYC Explosion where her team was twice Virginia State Cup semi-finalists. They were also champions at the Raleigh Shootout in 2001 and the Virginian Soccer Tournament in 2000 and 2001. Meghan also led Bishop Ireton High School to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semi-finals twice and finals in 2001. She was a three-sport athlete and was also a member of the track and swimming teams. She was a member of the 4x800 Virginia state relay champions and ran at the Penn Relays the last three years.

Reason Meghan chose the Pirates:
"I feel that I will have a very rewarding experience at ECU. ECU offers me a wide range of academic choices. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the members of the soccer team and the coaching staff and am looking forward to the warm weather."

Coach Donnenwirth's comments:
"Meghan is a great athlete and her athleticism will help her deal with opponents at the college level. She also has a good understanding of defensive principles and should fit into our system well."
