GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina officials have announced that Sunday nights non-conference soccer game between the Pirates and UNC Greensboro at the ECU Soccer Stadium has been cancelled due to heavy rains brought on by Hurricane Irene.

The Pirates (2-1) are coming off a 2-0 victory over instate rival UNC Wilmington on Thursday night, where Caty Butler scored a paired of goals and Christiane Cordero recorded her third career shutout.

ECU will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Davidson Friday, Sept. 2 for a 7 p.m. game before wrapping up its road trip with a Sunday afternoon contest against Charlotte on Sept. 4 at 2 p.m.
