GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's soccer team will be back in action tonight when they travel to in-state foe and former Colonial Athletic Association foe UNC Wilmington. Game time is set for 7 p.m. (ET) at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
The Pirates (3-4) enter the match on the heels of a 3-0 loss at South Carolina last Sunday. In its final non-conference home game, ECU defeated High Point 2-1 thanks to a game-winning strike by redshirt sophomore Lexi Miller in the 53rd minute of play. For Miller it was her team-leading second goal of the season. Junior keeper Christiane Cordero has started all seven games in goal posting a 1.70 goals against average with 21 saves and a pair of shutouts

Caty Butler's Two Goals Lifts ECU, 2-0
Junior Caty Butler netted a pair of goals and Christiane Cordero recorded her third career shutout as East Carolina blanked instate rival UNC Wilmington 2-0 Thursday night at the ECU Soccer Stadium.
UNC Wilmington (5-2-1) enters the game riding a five-game winning streak, the programs longest since 2009. Freshman Maddie McCormick scored in the 71st minute to propel the Seahawks to a 1-0 victory over Coastal Carolina back on Sept. 13. Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter made three saves for the Seahawks to post her third shutout of the season and the 10th clean sheet of her career.

In 65 career games (63 starts), the Redondo Beach, Calif. native has recorded 14 career points (three goals, eight assists) ... Against Davidson, she collected a career-best three points scoring the game-winning goal (second career) and assisting on Chrissy Gratz' goal in the 59th minute of action.
First Career Starts
Sophomore Kelly Miller became the third Pirate to record her first collegiate start on the season ... The Zionsville, Ind. got the start against Charlotte (9/3) recording one shot (on goal) ... A pair of true freshmen made their first collegiate starts in the first two matches of the 2012 season ... Haley Patsey got the start in the season opener at Campbell (8/17) playing every minute in the Pirate backfield ... Kelsie Halstenrud made her first start against ODU (8/22) in the home opener.
Along with Halstenrud and Patsey, fellow classmates Jackie Cajigal (vs. Davidson), Kendall Frey (vs. Campbell) and Lexi Herring (vs. Davidson) all made their collegiate debuts this season ... First Career Goals
Frey netted her first collegiate goal against ODU (8/22) in the home opener ... In the 70th minute of play, Danielle Romano served a pass to Kelly Miller, who then sent a center pass from the right that Frey headed into the right side o the goal for the would-be game-winner ... Stephanie Seagrave scored her first goal against Davidson (8/31) on a corner kick in ECU's 3-0 victory ... Once again Romano was credited with an assist sending a ball into the box, where Seagrave headed the ball past the keeper.
