GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's soccer team will hit the road for a pair of Conference USA matches this weekend, traveling to No. 25 Memphis (Sept. 28/8 p.m. ET) and UAB (Sept. 30/2 p.m. ET) looking to improve on its perfect 2-0 start in league play.

Last weekend the Pirates (6-4, 2-0) picked up a pair of shutout wins at home claiming victories over UTEP (1-0) and Colorado College (1-0) for its first 2-0 start since the 2009 season, when they claimed the regular season C-USA Championship.

Lexi Miller scored her third goal of the season and second game-winning strike of the year against UTEP scoring in the 12th minute of play off a corner kick by Danielle Romano. Freshman Kendall Frey netted her second game-winning strike of the season against Colorado College just two minutes into the second half (47th minute) with senior Chrissy Gratz recording the assist.

With a 3-0 victory over East Carolina (11-8-1) on Friday night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex, No. 4/6 Memphis (20-0-1) advances to their fifth-consecutive Conference USA Tournament Championship game. Lizzy Hildebrant, Lizzy Simonin and Rasheeda Ansari each tallied goals for the Lady Tigers as they improve to 20-0-1 on the season. East Carolina ends its season with an 11-8-1 record.

Pirates Fall To Blazers In Double Overtime, 3-2

UAB's Tiffini Turpin recorded her first career hat trick helping the Blazers (6-12-1, 3-7-1) to a 3-2 double overtime win over East Carolina (10-7-1, 5-6-0) Sunday afternoon at the ECU Soccer Stadium in the regular season finale for both schools.

Junior Pirate keeper Christiane Cordero recorded her third and fourth clean sheets of the season (11 career) lowering her goals against average to 1.29. On the season she has allowed 13 goals (only two at home) and recorded 35 saves in 900-plus minutes in goal.

When Memphis (6-3, 2-0 C-USA) and ECU meet Friday night at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, it will be a battle of two first place teams early in the conference season. The Tigers are coming off a pair of wins at home against No. 6 UCF (2-1/OT) and Southern Miss (5-2). Sophomore Kylie Davis shared C-USA Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors after netting a pair of game-winners last weekend, which included the golden goal against UCF in extra time.

UAB enters the weekend with a 2-8 overall record and 1-1 ledger in league play. The Blazers picked up a 1-0 victory over Southern Miss thanks to a Paige Hawkins' second goal of the 2012 campaign in the 54th minute. But UAB lost its Sunday match falling to No. 6 UCF, 6-0.

Romano Serving It Up
Danielle Romano leads the club and is tied for third in Conference USA with four assists through 10 matches ... The redshirt sophomore has become a dangerous weapon for the Pirates on corner kicks serving up three game-winning assists (all on corners) ... She need just three more assists to crack the school's single-season top five.

Pirates Receiving Votes In Central Regional Rankings
Following a pair of shutout wins to open C-USA play, the Pirates are receiving votes in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Central Regional poll ... ECU is one of five league schools in this weeks Central Regional poll, which consists of UCF (No. 1), Memphis (No. 7), Colorado College (No. 10) and Rice (RV).

Cordero Named C-USA Defensive Player-of-the-Week
The Valencia, Calif. native, who was also named College Sports Madness C-USA Player-of-the-Week, recorded a pair of shutouts last weekend against UTEP and Colorado College to help the Pirates to their first 2-0 start in league play since the 2008 season ... Cordero tallied 11 saves on the weekend playing all 180 minutes in goal and recorded her third and fourth clean sheets of the year ... Against UTEP, she stopped all five shots she faced in a 1-0 victory ... She followed that with six saves in another 1-0 win, snapping Colorado College's five-match win streak.

ECU's Star Shines Bright At Home
Early on this season, the Pirates boast an impressive 5-1 record at home recording four shutouts, allowing two goals ... Their lone loss came at the hands of instate foe Charlotte back on Sept. 3, 1-0 ... In six games, ECU has outscored its opponents 8-2 at the ECU Soccer Stadium ... On the road, they have been outscored 11-3 with a 1-3 ledger.

50-Straight and Counting
Senior Hali Oughton has started 50-straight matches dating back to Oct. 30, 2009 against Marshall ... In 68 career games (66 starts), the Redondo Beach, Calif. native has recorded 14 career points (three goals, eight assists) ... Against Davidson, she collected a career-best three points scoring the game-winning goal (second career) and assisting on Chrissy Gratz' goal in the 59th minute of action.

First Career Starts
Sophomore Kelly Miller became the third Pirate to record her first collegiate start on the season ... The Zionsville, Ind. got the start against Charlotte (9/3) recording one shot (on goal) ... A pair of true freshmen made their first collegiate starts in the first two matches of the 2012 season ... Haley Patsey got the start in the season opener at Campbell (8/17) playing every minute in the Pirate backfield ... Kelsie Halstenrud made her first start against ODU (8/22) in the home opener.

Collegiate Debuts
Along with Halstenrud and Patsey, fellow classmates Jackie Cajigal (vs. Davidson), Kendall Frey (vs. Campbell) and Lexi Herring (vs. Davidson) all made their collegiate debuts this season ... Frey logged 32 minutes of action and recorded a shot on goal, while Cajigal and Herring did not record any statistics.

First Career Goals
Frey netted her first collegiate goal against ODU (8/22) in the home opener ... In the 70th minute of play, Danielle Romano served a pass to Kelly Miller, who then sent a center pass from the right that Frey headed into the right side o the goal for the would-be game-winner ... Stephanie Seagrave scored her first goal against Davidson (8/31) on a corner kick in ECU's 3-0 victory ... Once again Romano was credited with an assist sending a ball into the box, where Seagrave headed the ball past the keeper.
