GREENVILLE, N.C. - Following its 1-0 overtime win over Marshall this past Thursday at the ECU Soccer Stadium, the East Carolina women's soccer team secured the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Conference USA Championships the league announced Friday night. The eight-team, five-day event will be held at University Field in El Paso, Texas from Oct. 31-Nov. 4.

The Pirates (10-6-3, 6-2-3) will play fifth-seed Tulsa in the second match of the day starting at 3:30 p.m. (ET). Just two weeks ago the two teams met in Greenville playing to a double-overtime tie, the third on the season for the Pirates.

Colorado College and Rice finished the regular season with an 8-2-1 record to share the conference crown. It is the first C-USA women's soccer title for both. The Tigers will hold the top seed after a 1-0 victory over Rice head-to-head.

The Tigers (13-3-4) will face No. 8 seed Houston (7-8-3, 3-4-3 C-USA) to open Wednesday's action at 1 p.m. This is the first time the two teams have met in the C-USA Championship.

Rice (11-6-3) will meet No. 7 seed SMU (8-7-4, 4-3-4 C-USA) in 6:30 p.m. quarterfinal. The pair met Sept. 23 in the opening weekend of conference play, with the Owls earning a 3-2 victory against the visiting Mustangs.

The most intriguing match of the day may be the nightcap as No. 3 seed UCF (14-4-1, 8-3-0 C-USA) squares off with No. 6 seed Memphis (10-7-1, 6-4-1 C-USA). Memphis is the five-time defending tournament champion, while the Knights have advanced to three tournament finals and been a NCAA at-large representative the last five years in a row. The Tigers won the regular-season match-up with a 2-1 overtime decision. UCF was ranked sixth nationally at the time and is still ranked No. 20 in the NSCAA national poll.
