BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Junior Keli Harrell (14-11) struck out eight and walked just one to earn the victory in game one of a doubleheader against Campbell, 4-0.

The Pirates broke open a scoreless game in the opener with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, before tacking on a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Erin St. Ledger drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly scoring Vanessa Moreno. Jessica Johnson hit the first of her two home runs on the afternoon pushing the lead to 2-0 in the sixth before Krista Jessup delivered a two-RBI double in the seventh.

After allowing her only hit with one out in the second, Harrell retired 13 straight batters before another Camel reached base.

Lauren Caviness (11-11) suffered the loss for the Camels after allowing the four runs on seven hits in 6.1 innings of work. Kelly Weaver tossed the final 0.2 of the seventh surrendering a base hit.
