GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina's Marketing Department has announced its promotions schedule for the upcoming softball season.

The first promotion of the spring involves the home opening contest against Cleveland State on Feb. 8 at 2:30 p.m. The team's 2013 poster and schedule cards will be given away at the game.

After nearly a month on the road, the Pirates return home to ECU Softball Stadium and hosts Youth Day on March 23. Members of the Pitt County Girls' Softball League and the Girl Scouts of Pitt County will have the opportunity to come on the field with the Pirate players for the national anthem. All youths that are aged 17 and under will also be able to attend the game for free.

The contest against state-rival North Carolina on April 17 has been designated as the Pink and Purple Strikeout Cancer Event to promote cancer awareness. Fans in attendance for the game are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer research and as an added incentive gain free admission to the contest.

During the next home contests, the series versus Memphis on April 20-21, East Carolina will hold Military Appreciation Weekend. Members of local, regional and national military branches will have the opportunity to attend the games for free by showing their military identification and be publicly recognized at the games for their service to the country.

Rounding out the home promotions schedule is the last home game of the season, May 5 versus UCF, which will serve as the team's Senior Day for Kai Clark and Cicely Lopez.

In addition to these special game days, autograph sessions with the Pirates will take place after the second contest of Saturday doubleheaders and following Sunday matchups.

Party packages are also available for interested fans. A minimum of 10 people are required to host a party and the price starts at $100. As part of the event, individuals receive a game ticket in the reserved seating area, a personalized greeting on the video board and over the public address system and a choice of a pizza or hot dog meal in addition to a cupcake for all members of the party.
