GREENVILLE, N.C. — The East Carolina softball team will host the 2004 Hampton Inn/Pirate Classic this weekend. Games will be played at both the ECU Softball Field and D.H. Conley High School. East Carolina will play all four of its round-robin games on its home field.

On Friday, the Pirates face Delaware at 10 a.m. and Fairfield at 12 p.m. ECU will then take on George Mason at noon on Saturday, followed by a game against Towson at 2 p.m.

Each team will play one another once and then be seeded into a single-elimination tournament which will be held on Sunday.

The Pirates are 2-0-1 after playing three games at the Triangle Classic in Raleigh this past weekend. ECU claimed victories over both Virginia and Liberty, and earned a tie against Elon after played was halted in the top of the seventh due to adverse weather conditions.

At the end of each day this weekend, www.ECUpirates.com will have score updates for every scheduled matchup and a complete boxscore for each of the Pirates' games.
