Warren Perry is in his second season as a member of the staff working primarily with middle distance, butterfly and backstroke swimmers.
He joined the Pirates after spending a year teaching history at North Raleigh Christian Academy, where he also coached men's varsity swimming. As the head coach, he led the team to a 10-3 duel meet record and fourth place finish at the 2005-2006 state championship meet. He has also worked collegiate camps at Auburn, Navy and North Carolina.
Born and raised in Kinston, N.C., Perry grew up swimming for YMCA teams in Goldsboro and Raleigh, before receiving a scholarship to swim for coach Frank Comfort at North Carolina. Perry graduated from UNC in 2003 with a double major in communications and history and received his master's in 2004.
