Women's Swimming In First Place at C-USA Championships After Day One

    Indianapolis, IN – After one day of competition at the Conference USA Swimmng and Diving Championships. the East Carolina women's team is in first place with 221 points, while the men are in second place behind TCU with 215.

    The 200-free relay team of Sarah Hunt, Adrienne Williams, Lindsay Holman and Martha Snead set a new varsity record and took second place (1:33.67).

    Diane Parker won the 200 IM and set a new varsity record in her preliminary round with a time of 2:02.43.

    Adrienne Williams took second place in the 50 free (23.74)

    Casey Cronin set a new ECU record in the 200 IM with 1:30.26 and took second place.

    The men's 200 yard relay team of Tyler Devinney, Gavin Stark, Kelly Hendrick and Tim Thomas took third place (1:24.07).

    "It was a first good day, said head Coach Rick Kobe. "Both the guys and girl are swimming well."

    The championship meets continues in Indianapolis on Monday.
