GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina has signed three swimmers to a national letter-of-intent announced Pirate head coach Rick Kobe on Tuesday. ECU has inked two lady swimmers from Virginia and South Carolina and one young man from New Jersey for the 2006-07 season.

The trio includes: Rachel Blue of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Katlin Potts of Chester, Va. and Brian Honore' of West Windsor, N.J.

"These three student-athletes will have an immediate impact upon our program," said Kobe. "Their times fit right in with what our top athletes are swimming."

Blue swims for the Myrtle Beach Swim Club where she has become a remarkable swimmer that competes in freestyle events from 50 to 500 yards with times just off the United States Swimming Junior National standards.

Potts is also an outstanding freestyle sprinter with times just off the USS Junior National Association standards. She swims for the Poseidon Swimming Club in Midlothian, Va.

Honore', a member of the Eastern Express swim team in Skillman, N.J., is regarded as one of the top distance swimmers in the state and possesses outstanding times in the 500, 1000 and 1650-yard freestyle events.
