Coach Morris on Walston:"Scarlett had a solid fall, winning five straight matches at one point last semester. An honors student, Scarlett is a great competitor with solid ground strokes on both sides as well as a very solid net game. We are very excited that Scarlett is a member of our program and look forward to the next four seasons with her in our lineup. Scarlett is a hard worker, and we expect her to be a very solid competitor in our program."

Fall 2013: Posted a 5-3 singles record, with the five wins came consecutively ... Notched a perfect 4-0 mark at the ECU Invitational Oct. 4-5, which included straight-set victories over Norfolk State's Mafaldo Lhorca and Ana Popovic and N.C. Central's Lynsey Cover and Tamara Jeremic ... Played just two doubles matches and notched a 1-1 record.

High School/Junior Tennis: Spent two years training at the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy and graduated from Heritage Academy on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina ... Received awards in English and the Art Henderson Service Award, while graduating with a 4.0 grade point average ... Earned National Honor Society inclusion in 2011 and 2012 ... Attended J.H. Rose High School in Greenville as a freshman and sophomore, where she finished fourth in the state and was named the team's rookie-of-the-year following her first season ... Rated a three-star recruit in's 2013 class, which also listed her as the ninth-best player from North Carolina, 54th in the southeast region and No. 218 nationally.
