CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina captured all six singles matches, five in straight sets, and earned the doubles point to post a 7-0 non-conference victory over East Carolina Friday afternoon at Billy Nichols Tennis Center.

The win improved the Chanticleers overall spring dual match record to 15-5, while the Lady Pirates dropped their season mark to 9-14 with the loss.

Coastal Carolina opened the match by garnering the doubles point, tallying 8-1, 8-4 and 8-6 triumphs. ECU's tandem of Renata Bakieva and Natalie Collins battled Maria Hesketh and Kourtney Kowal in the No. 3 match before falling after the Chanticleers jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

The Chanticleers followed by notching straight-set singles wins in the the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 positions. ECU's Yilian Zhang took the first set, 7-5, in a No. 5 meeting, but Kowal rallied back for 6-3 and 10-3 victories to complete the sweep.

After wrapping up regular season action Saturday by facing the College of Charleston at 10 a.m., the Lady Pirates will prepare for the Conference USA Championship Tournament in Memphis on April 19-22
