Cary, N.C. --- East Carolina improved to 7-2 overall this season with a 5-2 win over Campbell at the Cary Tennis Center on Tuesday. The Pirates claimed the doubles point and four of six singles matches.

The No. 1 doubles team of Kirstin Buchanan/Mireia Gol blanked the Campbell duo of Scarlet Alfonzo/Georgiana Marta, 8-0. Gillie Bailey/Luiza Borges posted an 8-4 win at flight two over Iva Stojancev/Nina Surviladze and the Pirates claimed a sweep of the doubles action with a default at flight three.

Gol recorded a straight sets victory at No. 2 singles as did Hannah Priest at flight five. Raluca Baicu rallied for the win at flight three after dropping the opening set to Surviladze. Alex Smith's win by default at flight six gave the Pirates their fourth singles win.

East Carolina returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at Elon.
