Greenville, N.C. --- East Carolina posted its eighth shutout of the season, claiming the doubles point and all six singles matches for a 7-0 victory over visiting American University at the ECU Tennis Complex on Thursday.

ECU won all six singles matches in straight sets, including a trio of 6-0, 6-0 victories. Mireia Gol shutout Rachael Honig at flight three. Raluca Baicu won all 12 sets played against Tessa Hollyn-Taub at flight four and Hannah Priest swept past Merissa Hollinger at flight six.

With the victory, East Carolina improved to 11-5 on the season, while American fell to 1-5 overall.

The Pirates will next host Gardner-Webb on Friday at 2 p.m.
