GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Presley Thomas of Little Rock, Ark. has committed to play tennis at East Carolina University announced head coach Tom Morris on Monday.

Thomas has been ranked No. 1 in the state of Arkansas in three different age divisions during her high school career by the USTA. She has won seven individual state championships, including a pair of 5A state titles. Thomas has helped Little Rock Central High to three consecutive state championships and won the conference individual title each season as well, compiling a 63-4 overall record. Last summer she represented her home state at the Junior Fed Cup in the 18-and-under division, playing No. 1 singles for a fourth consecutive season.

"We are extremely excited that Presley has committed to ECU and will be part of our program for the next four years," said Morris. I expect her to have an immediate impact on our team next season and be a solid player in both our singles and doubles lineup."

A member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club, Thomas has maintained a 3.4 grade point average at Little Rock Central High School, while being actively involved as a teacher in the Grassroots Program with the Arkansas Tennis Association.
