IRVING, Texas - Junior Dana Gray was named to the 2014 All-Conference USA Women's Tennis Second Team, according to an announcement by the league Tuesday. The Rotorua, New Zealand native, who prepped at Western Heights High School, posted East Carolina's highest singles win total with 12 during the spring.

In all, Gray compiled a 12-6 mark playing primarily at the No. 6 (7-3) position during her third campaign with the Pirate program. She closed the year winning nine of the last 11 matches, which included a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Charlotte's Jessica Perez in a regular season-ending C-USA battle. Gray also captured the only match she played at No. 3 (1-0) and was 2-1 at No. 4.

She enjoyed a season-best six-match victory streak from Feb. 22 to March 11 and provided East Carolina's clinching singles point in three separate 4-3 victories during the course of the year - at Appalachian State (Feb. 28), at Gardner-Webb (March 1) and vs. Seton Hall (March 11).

Gray's selection was the second-straight post-season honor for head coach Tom Morris' program as Melis Tanik was a third-team league choice a year ago.
