Women's Tennis Receives Second Commitment Of The Spring

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Logan Beam has committed to play tennis at East Carolina University announced head coach Tom Morris on Monday. Beam joins Presley Thomas as the first two players to commit to ECU for the 2006 season.
A native of Shelby, N.C., Beam ranks among the state's top 15 players 18-and-under. She was a four-time all-conference performer at Burns High School and qualified for the regionals each year, while earning team MVP accolades every season and was the recipient of the Wendy's High School Heisman at Burns. Beam began her prep career as freshman on the varsity soccer team and earned team MVP honors as both a freshman and sophomore before deciding to focus solely upon tennis. Beam is also an exceptional student. She will graduate among the top five percent of her class and has acquired a cumulative grade point average of 4.4. She was inducted into both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honors Society, earning scholar athlete awards in both tennis and soccer.
