He also guided senior Hector Cotto to an NCAA East Regional qualifying mark, an NCAA National Championship appearance, and a new school record in the 110m high hurdles.
Zalewski graduated from the State University of New York College at Cortland in 2005, where he earned his B.S. in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Exercise Science. He was part of four SUNY Athletic Conference Championship teams, as well as one Eastern College Athletic Conference championship team. He also earned all-conference honors in the 400 intermediate hurdles, 4x400 relay, 4x100 relay, and 500m during his career as a Red Dragon and is part of the school record-setting 4x400m relay team at Cortland.
