"I feel that both teams did extremely well this weekend," head coach Curt Kraft said. "I am proud of how they competed in the first meet. It is hard to tell how you will compete in the first meet of the season. The highlight of the meet was certainly Spencer Barrick earning a NCAA Regionally Qualifying mark in the javelin mark, setting a school record. I'm sure there will be many more to come this season, but his was certainly the high point of the weekend. This was a great way to start, but we have a long way to go. But if we continue the season like this, we will be a lot better in the end."
The track and field teams will head to Winston-Salem this coming weekend to take part in the Wake Forest Open March 21-22.
